Geotrends 2010
“International conference GEOTRENDS is planned as a meeting which will consider all actual tendencies and trends of geoheritage, geotourism and geoconservation research in the world.”
Een conferentie waarin alles samen lijkt te komen: erfgoed, toerisme, conservering en (geo)techniek. Je moet van 24 tot 26 juni naar Novi Sad in Servie reizen om daar de “Geotrends; International Conference on Geoheritage en Geotourisme” bij te wonen.
De serven zeggen dat de begrippen geotourism en geoheritage vrij nieuw zijn in hun omgeving. “Dat is de voornaamste reden voor het uitnodigen van een groot aantal ervaren deskundigen op deze gebieden om deel te nemen (in het programma, red.) met lezingen en met toezicht de conferentie te waarborgen.”
Deze ervaren deskundigen zijn nog niet bekend, maar het commitee wordt vooral vertegenwoordigd door de UK (wat op erfgoedgebied vaak garant staat voor kwaliteit).
De scope van de conferentie is:
- Bring together geoscientists, academics, tourism practitioners and protected area managers with a view to strengthening and promoting the discipline of geotourism.
- Discuss the role of geotourism as an academic discipline providing the framework and training for the practical application of geotourism.
- Discuss the core content of geotourism namely: geoheritage sites attractions and development, the geopark concept, visitor management and geosite/landscape interpretation and management.
- To set the scene for the integration of geological attractions as an essential component of nature-based tourism – geotourism.
- Promote wider community awareness and protection of natural heritage and its implementation.
Voor de kosten hoef je deze conferentie niet voorbij te laten gaan. Tot 15 april betaal je slechts €100,= aan registration fee! En dat is inclusief een dag lang geo-heritage-touren door de streek Vojvodina op zaterdag 26 juni!
