ICOM-CECA conference in Armenia #ceca2012
The ICOM-CECA conference 2012 was held in Yerevan, Armenia. All participants were very enthusiastic about the organization and content of the conference. The beautiful location -the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran, world’s richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books, the ancient culture of Armenia, the lively city Yerevan and the exceptional good food contributed a lot to this enthusiasm. With the help of Storify we created a sort of wrap-up of the conference in tweets.

-
We’re currently half way through today’s researcher session, hearing about museum education in Canada & France. #CECA2012
-
Greetings from #CECA2012! Took a while to get connected but now we have lift off. Just hearing about museum education in France.

-
@jennifuchs @icomceca Interested but the livestream isn’t working for me. You could tweet the gems? #CECA2012
-
Should children be taught ‘rules’ for visiting museums (don’t touch/run/eat/shout etc)? Or can we express it more positively? #CECA2012
-
@UlrikeSchmid In meiner #CECA2012 Präsentation am Dienstag kommen auch @kulturkonsorten & @KultUp drin vor :-)
-
@jennifuchs If there is an answer to that, please let us know! I always hate that part – yet, in a way it seems necessary… #CECA2012
-
@TanjaNeumann Just heard an example from Italy, where the kids then taught their parents the ‘rules’ :-) #CECA2012
-
@jennifuchs I’ve seen that happen, too. Once in a while they even teach me (e.g. no phones allowed ^^)… #CECA2012
-
We now have some parallel talks – theme papers vs market of ideas. We’ll be tweeting from the latter. #CECA2012
-
@TanjaNeumann It can be confusing when on the other hand we sometimes WANT them to use their phones, e.g. to tweet. Mixed msgs. #CECA2012
-
Hearing about museum mascots at the Archaeological Museum Zagreb. Any other museums out there work with mascots? #CECA2012
-
“Every [#museum] mascot has its own life. It is born, it grows up, it becomes meaningful.” #CECA2012 // cc @QWoo @OWNEYtheDOG
-
@Zerahlynne Not yet, but I’ll be sure to change that, thanks for recommending! :) #CECA2012
-
Several presentations today about rules & instructions in museums and how to communicate these in a positive way. #CECA2012
-
Best presentation title of the day? “My love-hate relationship with texts in museums” by Arja van Veldhuizen from the Netherlands. #CECA2012
-
